BETH WEAVER
Public Relations Manager

Ms. Weaver is a senior communications professional with over 18 years of experience for government, nonprofit and business clients. Prior to joining Newport Partners, Ms. Weaver held senior level positions with public relations agencies, nonprofit organizations and the federal government.
At Newport Parners, Ms. Weaver is currently working on a comprehensive communications strategy for the Partnership in Advancing Technology in Housing (PATH) Concept Home. She is coordinating another HUD-supported project, Strategies to Overcome Regulatory Barriers to Affordable Housing, to educate local officials and advocates through regional conferences and workshops and via an electronic toolkit. She also worked with BearingPoint to market the Fair Housing Accessibility FIRST program to the building industry.
She has recently directed community relations efforts for the DC Water and Sewer Authority’s lead service replacement program and the media relations campaign for the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments’ Commuter Connections program.
At Earle Palmer Brown, a public relations firm, Ms. Weaver led the marketing efforts for the Department of the Treasury’s public education campaign for electronic savings bonds.
Ms. Weaver served as Director of the Office of Public Affairs for the U.S. Department of the Treasury, where she developed and implemented communications strategies, served as a principal spokesman and oversaw a team of press officers. She also managed two high profile efforts, the 1996 series currency redesign and electronic funds transfer (Direct Deposit) campaigns.
Prior to her government service, she served as Communications Director for the National Association of Police Organizations where she served as the organization’s chief spokesman. Ms. Weaver also worked for the Brady Campaign where she directed public awareness campaigns and organized grassroots advocacy efforts.
Beth holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in International Relations from the University of Delaware. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America, National Capital Chapter
