REV. WALTER SWAIM
Senior Pastor
Central Baptist Church
Walter is a native of the Miami/Hollywood/Ft. Lauderdale, Florida area. He has been involved in independent Baptist ministry for over 20 years.
He is a graduate of Baptist Bible College with a B.S. in Theology, and is a candidate in completion of his M.A. in Apologetics at Tyndale Theological Seminary.
Walter has served as a youth pastor, music minister, and associate pastor. In his most recent ministry experience he served 10 years as a missionary in Córdoba, Argentina in South America and then 5 years to the Hispanic people of South Florida through the Baptist Bible Fellowship International. Walter founded the Las Americas Baptist Church, a bilingual congregation, in Pembroke Pines, Florida. He is currently the pastor of the Central Baptist Church in Pasadena, Texas.
One of the areas of volunteer service he enjoys is being an active chaplain for 4 ½ years with the Hollywood Police Dept. In Florida and is currently serving in the same capacity at the La Porte Police Dept. In Texas.
He is celebrating 20 years of marriage with his beautiful wife Denise, and equally enjoys being dad to three children Celeste, Marisa and Jason, ages 18, 16, and 9. He and his family reside in La Porte, Texas.
Walter is bilingual (Spanish-English) and is bringing to the conference his experience in response to hurricanes at the “grass-roots/small local church” level in the communities in Florida and Houston, Texas in which he lived.
