Ms. Jackson is a member of the real estate section of the law firm of Coats|Rose, practicing in the areas of commercial real estate development and affordable housing financing. She has represented clients in the development of multifamily housing, residential subdivisions and commercial office and retail. Toni has particular expertise in various HUD redevelopment and public housing programs and regulatory matters. She has closed transactions in all funding aspects of affordable housing including tax credit, bond transactions and FHA financing. Ms. Jackson has successfully prepared public housing disposition and mixed-finance applications and has worked in the preparation and implementation of redevelopment plans, HOPE VI and capital finance funding. Her clientele consists of for-profit developers, community development corporations and housing authorities.

Toni serves on several community task forces and boards which focus on housing trends and community redevelopment. She is also a frequent speaker in the area of affordable housing. Toni has been involved in the creation and representation of Tax Increment Reinvestment Zones (TIRZs) in the City of Houston. Ms. Jackson also serves as a governmental liaison on municipal, county and statewide matters particularly in the areas of affordable housing, construction, specialized financing tools and other real estate issues and concerns.

Ms. Jackson is a member of the Texas bar and is also admitted to practice before U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Toni currently serves as member of the American Bar Association Forum for Affordable Housing Governing Board and has served on the ABA’s Task Force on Minority Bar Passage. Toni is an active member of the National Bar Association, Houston Bar Association, National Association of African Americans in Housing and Women In Real Estate and Finance. Her other board commitments include Houston Habitat for Humanity, Bread of Life Homeless Project, Texas Interfaith Housing Corporation, Texas Affiliation of Affordable Housing Providers, Ridley Scholarship Foundation at the University of Virginia.
