Laura Bailey is the Community Development Banking Market Executive, Central Region, where she is responsible for managing Bank of America community development client relationships throughout the Central U.S., as well as national relationships with syndicators of low income housing tax credits. Both efforts support the development of affordable housing and the expansion of economic development in underserved markets. Through these efforts, the group annually provides over $1 billion in direct credit to address these needs.

Prior to her current role, Bailey was responsible for product development and management for Community Development Lending, where she led efforts to broaden the bank’s product offerings in one-of-a-kind programs for developers of affordable housing.

Bailey joined Bank of America in 1999 as a regional manager for Community Development Lending in Texas. While in that role, Bailey became active in process improvement and quality efforts within the Community Development Banking Group. She has been market executive since October 2004.

Before joining the bank, Bailey was a product manager at Chase Manhattan Bank/Chase Securities. In that capacity, she was responsible for introducing a new lending conduit for clients of the National Brands group and originated real-estate-secured loans for sale in a master securitization. Previously, Bailey was Community Development Lending manager for Chase Bank of Texas, where loan originations grew substantially under her leadership.

Bailey spent her early career as a commercial real estate lender and fixed income portfolio manager. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Finance, where she majored in finance and international relations, earning concurrent bachelor of science in economics and bachelor of arts degrees.

On a national level, Bailey is a member of the board of the Enterprise Social Investment Corporation and the Urban Land Institute’s Affordable Housing Council. On a local level, Bailey serves on the board of Texas CBAR, the Greater Greenspoint Management District, and is active in the Greater Houston Partnership and Center for Houston’s Future.
