Alaine Azcona is the research assistant for the Campaign for Affordable Housing. She is currently a graduate student in urban planning and public art studies at the University of Southern California. Her interest in the role of the arts in community development grew out of her experience as a public relations account executive in New Orleans, where she represented Hibernia Community Development Corporation. She also represented the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and the New Orleans Museum of Art.
Since moving to Los Angeles in 2003 to begin graduate school, Ms. Azcona has worked as the writer and editor for the outreach newsletter for the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels and the catalogue editor for LA Freewaves, an international media arts festival. She also manages the Southern California Chapter of ArtTable, Inc., a professional organization for women in the arts. Ms. Azcona holds a B.A. in Latin American Studies and Latin American Literature from Smith College.
